Tiger Woods finally opened up to the media about the incidents following his car crash on Thanksgiving.
The 34 year-old issued a public statement from the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. He said “I was unfaithful, I had affairs, I cheated. What I did was unacceptable. I have only myself to blame.”
Looking straight into the cameras, Woods said: “I am deeply sorry for irresponsible and selfish behaviour I engaged in. I know people want to find out how I could be so selfish and so foolish… how I could have done these things to my wife Elin and my children. I am so sorry,” he said. “I have a lot to atone for.”
He also admitted to needing help and that he will be returning to the rehab facility.
When his wife found out about the affairs it was reported that she attacked Woods with a golf club; Woods denies this saying “Elin never hit me that night or any other night. Elin has shown enormous grace and poise throughout this ordeal.
Elin deserves praise, not blame.” He adds, “Elin and I have started the process of discussing the damage for my behaviour.”
Woods also said that he would return to pro golf one day.
