Tiger Woods Says Sorry To Wife Elin And Mom

Tiger Woods Apologizes At News Conference

Tiger Woods returned to the public Friday morning, apologizing for his infidelity to his wife and slamming the media for intruding in his personal life. He mentioned undergoing rehabilitation to assist him with his behavior and promises his fans he will return to golf sometime this year.

The statement was 13 ½ minutes long and televised around the world. A selected group of family members and friends along with three reporters who were not allowed to ask questions were in the audience. Woods stated that he was “deeply sorry” for his selfish, irrational behavior and asked his fans for forgiveness.

He also apologized to his family, friends, sponsors, staff, and friends repeatedly. He then went on to say that he was unfaithful and had many affairs which were not acceptable.

Woods wore a navy blazer along with gray slacks and a light blue shirt without a tie as he spoke from the clubhouse of the golf course at the headquarters of the PGA.

The AP reporter that was in attendance made a confirmation that his wife, Elin, did not attend the press conference, though his mother was seated in the front row. She gave him a hug after he had finished speaking and stepped off of the podium.

“My failures have made me look at myself in a way I never wanted to before,” comments the golfer.
