Jake Harris of the Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch” reality TV series was charged with driving under the influence or DUI and taken into custody.
The other members of the crew from the cable television show said they were shocked that he was actually arrested.
Police on the other hand said that Jake Harris failed the Breathalyzer test because he refused to even take it. To make matters worse, Jake Harris of the cable show “Deadliest Catch” was driving under a suspended license. However, he was only charged under suspicion of driving while drunk on February 18, 2010.
Jake Harris who is 24 years old is the deckhand on the show. There have been other situations that might have complicated the behaviors that Jake Harris was acting out on since his father, age 53, who was the skipper of the crab boat called the Cornelia Marie died on February 9, 2010 from a stoke.
Getting arrested on suspicion of driving drunk is not Jake Harris’ only problem at the moment with the police. A car that has been identified as matching Jake Harris’ vehicle was involved that same night in a hit and run accident.
The BMW 3 Series matching the description of the hit and run vehicle was stopped by State Police. They noticed that the smell of alcohol came from Jake Harris’ breath when he spoke. He failed the sobriety test and refused the Breathalyzer test plus he was driving without a license.
Jake Harris of the Discovery Channel reality show “Deadliest Catch” spent the night in King County Jail and saw Judge Aaron Rocke on Friday, February 19, 2010. His bail was set at $1500.

Yes Katy I do blame him. Tragedy is a part of life and we all must deal with it. Jake was irresponsible in his actions-not only endangering himself, but others on the road.
I love DC, Phil was my favorite Capt. I greatly admire his sons-still do. But Jake needs to be a responsible adult, he is not a child anymore. If he has difficulty dealing with his Dad’s death, he needs to go for counseling.
