New Role For Clooney’s Girl?

Elisabetta Canalis, best known for being George Clooney’s latest girlfriend, might have a new role soon. The 31 year-old Italian model is in talks to play a recurring role as a secret agent in the TNT Network drama “Leverage”. Canalis is said to be excited about the part because she wants to break into American television.

In addition to modeling in Italy, Canalis has made several television appearances on various Italian shows such as “Total Request Live” and “Festivalbar”. In America, she has had small roles in a couple of movies, including “Deuce Bigelow”. While most Americans are only familiar with Canalis as George Clooney’s girlfriend, the upcoming role in “Leverage” would be her first big acting break in America.

Actor George Clooney, 48, arranged for the meeting between “Leverage” producers and Canalis through his good friend Richard Kind. Kind appeared in the finale of the second season of the show and was able to put Clooney in touch with the producers.

Clooney and Canalis have been dating since last September. She will be accompanying him to the Oscars on March 7th. It is rumored that while she is in town for the Oscars she will begin filming scenes for “Leverage”.
