According to reports, actress Angelina Jolie may have recently settled her long outstanding bout with her father, Jon Voight. The Hollywood actress apparently met up with her actor father in Venice, Italy. This is their first meeting in over 7 years. Jolie and Voight were seen touring the streets of Venice, where Jolie is filming her next film entitled “The Tourist.” Jolie’s husband, Brad Pitt, was also seen walking with Jolie and Voight. The site seeing included a trip to Venice’s Grand Canal this past Sunday.
Voight and Jolie have had an extremely rocky relationship over the past few years. The relationship came to a halt in 2001 when Voight publicly spoke out against Jolie and said that she needed to seek professional help to deal with significant mental problems.
However, in recent years, Voight appears to be trying to mend the relationship. Voight has reportedly been trying to mend their relationship for over two years, and it now appears that Jolie is finally accepting him back into her life. Voight has stated that he and his daughter do not see or talk to each other too regularly, but he knows that they love each other, which is the most important thing.
I’m happy to hear that Angelina and father have reunited…as we get older we really start to need family…especially as family starts to dwindle. My father and I were always banging heads, but things seem to change for the better when I had a child. I lost my father and my brother…and I miss them dearly. My daughter’s relationship with her father had been rocky also, she has bipolar disorder and so is he…but they too have reunited and things feel better knowing there is harmony. I Hope Angelina can enjoy a relationship with her dad. I’m sure it will.
