Michael Jackson’s legacy will continue, as he will be shown across the big screens at Disneyland beginning this month. “Captain EO” is the name of the 3-D film starring Michael Jackson that graced the screens of Disneyland from 1986-1997. In honor of Jackson and to appease many fans, Disneyland has announced showing the film again very soon.
“Captain EO” stars Jackson as a person who is responsible for ending the reign of an evil leader, played by Angelica Houston, and to help save the world. The seventeen minute long film, will have a few added surprises, and the sound has been improved from the original version. It features two songs by Michael Jackson, and also incorporates the use of smoke and lasers to make the show more intense and exciting for viewers.
The “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” exhibit will be closing in order to make room for “Captain EO”. It is unknown exactly how long Disneyland will feature the Jackson show, but it has been advertised as available for a limited time. Jackson fans hoping to get one more glimpse of the King of Pop may want to book their trips soon to ensure the chance to see it.
Michael wasn’t allowed to be different.
His innocence, too complex for most people to understand, exposed him to liars, thieves, betrayers and opportunists – many of whom showed their true colours after his death.
After everything, it isn’t the pyrotechnics we miss, the ’short films’, the budgets, the film, the clothes, the shows – or even the controversy.
It’s what Michael gave us that we remember.
But his death, unfair and cruel as it was – the end result of over 15 years of being treated worse than an animal by the media – in particular, Diane Dimond, and a corrupt police department headed by Tom Sneddon – may just be the catalyst that enables us to make the leap as human beings we so desperately need to make.
And for the generations to come who will never know what we had, maybe the music and Captain EO is as close as they will get to knowing the essence of who Michael was.
Tom Sneddon pursued this man for over 15 years? without cause. He was refused permission to prosecute Michael by 3 grand juries in 1993, due to a lack of evidence and credible witness, so he kept an open file on Michael and spent millions searching the world for other? so-called ‘victims.’
He found none.
In 2005, using the flimsiest of pretexts Sneddon? went to trial. 10 across-the-board verdicts later, Michael would be dead less than 4 and 1/2 years after being acquitted.
Those who call Michael Jackson a molester demonstrate a profound and almost staggering ignorance. Both the FBI and the LAPD found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing after over 10 years of investigation. A conservative jury in predominantly republican Santa Barbara found this man not guilty on all counts.
But yet people who have done no research, did not sit on the jury, and have read no serious accounts of the events of 1993 and 2005, persist in refuting the verdicts and evidence of one of the best intelligence gathering agencies in the world.
We must never forget what was done to Michael Jackson.
The man was innocent.
