While Susan Boyle has gained much acclaim for her outstanding voice, one of her main competitors does not seem to show the same appreciation as the rest of her fans.
Adam Lambert, who recently released a charted album, said that he is happy for the success that Boyle is having but he thought her recent album is just terrible. Lambert continued to say that Boyle’s rendition of “Wild Horses” was absolutely sacrilegious and a horrible treatment of the song. Lambert’s album “For Your Entertainment” sold close to 200,000 copies in its first week making it number three on the US Billboard charts.
The criticism that Lambert gave to Boyle’s recent record leads many to believe that Lambert is actually quite jealous of Boyle’s success. Both Adam Lambert and Susan Boyle have come to prominence in similar fashion. In May of 2009 Lambert finished second on American Idol.
Susan Boyle was first discovered when she appeared on Britain’s popular reality TV show “Britain’s Got Talent” in April 2009. Boyle released her first CD in November 2009. Since its release, her album has been one of the best selling albums in the world. She has also been an internet sensation as her song “Cry Me a River” has been viewed over 100 million times.

FOR THE RECORD, i just can’t stomach Lambert’s “singing” either.
First he has a right to critique the cd by Boyle and have an opinion…He is not jealous…he is just speaking his mind. He is very honest and open which is refreshing…I have heard her cd and it is not all that and the original version of Wild Horses is much better….Her cd is a bunch of easy adult listening songs, cover songs…She is not pop or rock which I think he was addressing…The original article about his comments were taken out of content…He was asked to critique her cd…He has an amazing voice…Oh by the way…he is no sore loser…His cd is gold in three countries now (has hugely out sold Kris) will be platnum by summer…The people who by his music are computer savvy …do downloads and Itunes…so to sell that many cds is an amazing feat…The people who buy Boyle on the average do not download….That is why she sold so many…her base in America is not big…it is Europe…She does not have stage presence and is not current…which he is…the ones who are sore losers are those who are bigots and give Adam a hard time for speaking honestly and giving his opinion…Just face it you are homophobic…and so are 95 % of the haters toward him…Lie all you want but the truth is blatantly obvious to intelligent people…And if you watched when he was on Oprah he complemented Susan on her voice and success…he is just saying he does not like the cd or style…Adam is wonderful.
Right on kat23morgan. Totally agree with you. Also unless we hear the complete interview, we don’t know if certain parts were left out and the story blown out of proportion. Adam is not mean spirited or anything like that. He is a kind, thoughtful person.

He’s been on record as mocking her in the past. His confidence in his opinions and talent are not backed up by his success or his talent. In the meantime, it just looks bad for the guy with the #58 album to criticize the person with the #6 album.

Oh Please! Mr. Lambert is threatened by Ms. Boyles natural charm and talent. So he didn’t like her album, perhaps she didn’t like the spectacle he made of himself on national t.v. Who cares?

Susan has a good voice, but her music makes me fall asleep. Adam’s music gives me enery boost and makes me happy. I enjoy listening to Adam’s music everyday.
Adam said he was misquoted. Why keep spreading the same crap from one place to the other? Did he make these comments to you? How do you know he really said it and why would he be jealous of Susan? Adam can sang,he is beautiful, he is sexy, he is exciting, he rocks. If Susan had him beat in those areas then yes, he would have a reason to be jealous of her. So I don’t think Admam is spending his time trying to be the next Susan Boyle. This is all just stupid.

Lambert is a jealous bum!!! He just needs to go away. Nobody wants to see his ugly face. He needs to come to grips with the fact that Susan is just better than him. A btter singer, a better person, and has something he will never have, grace.
For the record, Adam Lambert is not the best judge of what is good music for many of us. There are those of us who think his crapping on someone else’s success shows his true nature…..a jealous and immature individual.

“I Dreamed A Dream” on-line after I googled her and
really liked it. I bought her CD. Not so great no
matter how many copies it’s sold. Never watch American Idol and had never heard of Adam Lambert until I caught the tail end of “For Your Entertainment” video on MTV. I liked it so I bought
his CD – much better. The guy actually sings songs
that have some substance and a beat – not like the
treacle that’s currently permeating tv and radio. They both have different styles and I would never knock either one and don’t believe Adam trashed Susan. Each new article that pops up on the web about
this is more ridiculous than the last. And it’s too bad some people just have to throw in their homophobic comments about Adam when they reply to one of the articles.

Everyone has an opinion, and just for the record both Adam and Susan are very, very talented and I don’t feel the need to trash any of them but I’m sure he was misquoted and the press misheard him because they are both wonderful people. And to everyone who trashed Adam or Susan, They both have rare, unbelievable voices that inspire many people.

All I can say is “horses for courses”. Both these artists appeal to different types of audiences and for entirely different reasons. Why anyone asks Mr Lambert (who I wouldn’t know if he fell on me) to critique Susan’s CD is beyond me. He may be a brilliant performer for all I know but from the comments I have read, for and against him, he hasn’t done himself many favours by ridiculing someone who has dragged herself out of obscurity and personal hardship to be where she is now. For anyone to achieve what she has is admirable. I personally like her Album. It appeals to certain people, and not to others. You can’t please everyone all the time, so Mr Lambert is entitled to his view, but this is all it is, and we don’t necessarily have to agree with him do we?

Adam Lambert is entitled to his opinion but to claim being misquoted via some unclear Tweets was just a coward BS. He came across really phony and very fake and pretty dumb desperately trying to quickly brush something off. The Gay Time’s writer Jamie Tabberer is standing by his words. If Lambert said it, he needs to just deal with it. If he didn’t say it, just issue a clear statement denying it.
Otherwise, Lambert sounds like a desperate attention whore and a publicity hog. Or maybe he really is just a fake little poseur. And also very arrogant and a little dumb. Unless he comes clean, Adam Lambert sounds like some of his infantile fans who talk really loud but don’t want to own up to the consequences of their words. They all really need to just grow up.
I agree with KathyM, what do we care what this little sissy boy thinks or says. Susan is singing her heart out and hey let her enjoy or 15 minutes of fame. Her voice has a sweetness to it that is surly missing it Adams. For the record, I could care less what any “ball player”, popular singer, golf pro says about anything. They are not my source of inspiration for any thing or do I look to Hollywood for any moral or real guidance. They are actors on the stage nothing more, surly they are not role models for any one I know.

I have listened to both artist. They are both wonderful in their own right. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion and when your are asked an opinion are you suppose to lie? NO, so I am a 50 plus Grandma that is standing behind Adam, I personally love his CD and have it in my car and play it at least 1 or 2 times a week.
I would not expect any Rock & Roll fan to enjoy Susan Boyle’s album. I certainly would’t listen to it. Since Adam Lambert’s opinion matters to some of you, I think my opinion is just as important. If Susan was a pretty thin woman, no one would be buying her album. It’s the story people are buying. An frumpy challenged woman, who can actually sing. There are really a lot of them out there.
