Orca Had a Violent History
Tilikum the Killer Whale who has a reputation for being violent, is at the center of attention after it has become apparent the Orca dragged trainer Dawn Brancheau by her ponytail into the water. Many families where watching and witnessed the tragedy during the final moments of a lunchtime show at the SeaWorld attraction.
SeaWorld and investigators are actively seeking answers to what happened, and are studying video from the run up and during the incident to figure out why or for what reason the Whale might have reacted the way it did.
Whale Captivity Issues
The incident has drawn up many safety concerns, and has even brought questions from many people as to whether Whales should be kept in captivity at all.
Witnesses to the drowning have had mixed reactions, some saying that they will not go to shows at SeaWorld again, but others stating that the venue plays an important part in education.
The incident is still under investigation, and SeaWorld says it will open its doors once a thorough assessment has been completed.

Horrible tragedy, but trainer knew the possibilities with a wild animal because it had killed twice before. Her love for whales made her want to make a difference to the sea world. Love to her family and friends.
First, prays and thoughts to her family. For one those tanks the whales are kept in are WAY too small. They need to be bigger..I’d be a bit cranky too if I was that big and in a cramped up space. and is it possible the whale thought he had some sort of love affair with her and his aggression was too mate? Just a thought..He is a male.. If the whale seem aggitated that morning ALL Shows most be canceled..
