Sir Hopkins Slams Paris Hilton

Well, everybody else is, so why not Academy Award winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins? But Hopkins’ critiques were not reserved for Hilton alone, but for extremely thin female celebrities and fashion models. Hopkins has been doing a spate of interviews to publicize his latest film, “The Werewolf”, including these comments made for Starpulse.

Hopkins’ exact quote was this: “You look at fashion magazines and you think, ‘What are we living in?’ You look at the red carpet, Paris Hilton, you know, these people and you think, ‘Is there anything going on up there?’ It’s a mass enslavement and it’s kind of fascism. And it’s the androgyny of it; the androgyny of the human soul. I don’t think people think any more. But maybe I’m just old.”

The 72 year old Hopkins does know something about overcoming enslavement. He became an alcoholic as a child. When his acting carer rose in the UK, so did his drinking and wild ways. On the set of “The Lion in Winter” (1968), the legendary Katherine Hepburn took Hopkins to task for his drinking. Hopkins later moved to America and joined an alcoholics’ support group and became sober in 1975.

There has been no comment from Hilton, currently living in Los Angeles.
