Nick Schuyler, the lone survivor of the boating accident that claimed the lives of NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, is set to appear on Oprah Thursday, March 4, to promote a book chronicling the events of the boating accident that happened off the coast of Florida over a year ago.
Schuyler was the lone survivor of a boating accident that claimed the lives of Cooper, Smith, and Will Bleakley. All four men were former football players at the University of South Florida. All four men were residents of Tampa and the boating accident happened in the Gulf of Mexico.
Schuyler and three others were stranded at sea for nearly two days. The book is set to be released nearly one year to the day that he was discovered. The name of the book is called ‘Not Without Hope’ and was co written with sports writer Jere Longman. Schuyler was a former trainer with the South Florida Bulls and was a best friend of Bleakley. The four friends had gone deep seep fishing in Cooper’s 21 foot boat when waves capsized the boat. The weather worsened and the three others lost their lives. Schuyler had also made an appearance on NBC’s Today Show Thursday morning.
