Farrah Fawcett Oscar Snub

Each year at the prestigious Oscars event, there is a video montage displaying images of all those that have passed away during the previous calendar year. Last night’s events were no different. However, this year many are upset at who was left off of the video tribute. Although there has been some discussion that Bea Arthur and Ed McMahon were left off, most are upset that Farrah Fawcett was not included.

Those in charge of the Oscars are defending their position though. They claim that each year there are generally over 100 famous people that have died and they have to pick the top thirty or so to feature, as they can’t show everyone. They try to include those that have been involved in movies, rather than television. Although Farrah Fawcett did have roles in a few movies, she is generally known for her time on the television show “Charlie’s Angels.”

While they are standing behind their position, many have been left angered by their judgement call. Some stars that were included in the montage were Brittany Murphy, Patrick Swayze, and Michael Jackson, who coincidentally died the same day as Fawcett and did not appear in any major motion films.

Michael has been in eight feature films, besides he’s DEAD, how the hell is it his fault that Farrah wasnt included, people can be so ignorant its unbelieveable. He was an actor although he was not primarily known for that because he was the worlds biggest entertainer. But you cant say he doesnt belong their as much as Farrah, The academy should have made the segment a bit longer cut a few speeches short. Blame the academy not MJ , give the man a break ,hasnt he suffered enough because of the media bloodsuckers and public haters when he was alive?.Geez. 1978 The Wiz 1986 Captain EO 1988 Moonwalker 1997 Ghosts 2002 Men in Black II 2004 Miss Cast Away and the Island Girls 2009 Michael Jackson’s This Is It Michael Jackson’s “This is it” film is the highest grossing documentary of all time making 260 million dollars surpassing michael moores farenheight 9/11 that made 222.6 million. so yes he does deserve to be there. RIP to them Both.

People need to stop complaining about this whole thing. What bugs me is that people are so easily bringing up the fact that Michael starred in a couple movies and was more known for his musical career. Farrah was a tv star, and didn’t she act in a couple movies? So why should Farrah have the right to be part of the montage over Michael? If anything, the grammys should have responded better than the way they did. Yes Michael starred in a couple movies, but didn’t he change the face of the music video? He created historical short films for songs like Thriller, Smooth criminal, Black and White etc. The montage was dedidcated to those that influenced the film industry. I don’t mean to take anything away from Farrah, since I’m not familiar with any of her shows or movies, but what was her contribution?
