Every year the Academy Awards celebrates the film industry and presents various awards to the best films, actors, actresses, and producers. While the Academy Awards are meant to celebrate the best movies, fashion worn by the attendees is often discussed as much as the actual awards. The 2010 Academy Awards was no different than other years and provided viewers with many looks at beautiful gowns worn by the attendees.

Many fashion critics considered the gown worn by Sandra Bullock to be a hit, giving her one of the best appearances of the year. Bullock’s gown was certainly Oscar worthy as it was a glamorous and glowing slim fitting metallic dress. Bullock was nominated for Best Actress for the work she did in the film “The Blind Side.” While Bullock was nominated for the Best Actress award, she also won a Razzie Award for Worst Actress for her role in “All About Steve.”

A new trend this year for various actresses was wearing gold. Kate Winslet wore a strapless gold gown that was created by Yves Saint Laurent. The gown wore by Winslet comes with a high price tag of $2.5 million. Other actresses who looked stunning in gold gowns included Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Miley Cyrus.
