Lohan Sues Over E*Trade Ad

Lindsay Lohan is making headlines again, only this time it is not for crazy antics; this time she is suing over an advertisement by E*Trade Financial Corp.

E*Trade is airing an ad with a “milkaholic” baby girl ironically named Lindsay. Lohan is suing the company for $100 million saying that the baby is modeled after her and this invades her right to privacy. According to Lohan the baby looks, acts and is named after her and she did not agree to it.

Lohan filed her lawsuit Monday and is asking for $50 million of compensatory damages and $50 million of exemplary damages as well as having the advertisement pulled and given to her. Her attorney, Stephanie Ovadia, says that Lohan’s name has the same type single-name recognition as Oprah and Madonna.

A spokesman for the group that produced the ad said that it is just a popular name used for babies and it happened to be that name of someone on the advertising team.

E*Trade is known for having ads featuring babies trading stocks online. The ad in question was aired during the Super Bowl which drew in close to 106.5 million viewers.

Lohan is known for previous drug and alcohol related behavior. In 2007, she was sentenced to one day in jail, an alcohol education program and three years on probation for drunk driving and possession of cocaine.
