Serial Killer made the ‘Dating Game’ show in late 70′s

In 1978, when Rodney Alcala appeared as a contestant on the popular TV show, the Dating Game, he was already a convicted rapist. Alcala appeared as Bachelor No. 1 on the popular dating show and was chosen by Cheryl Bradshaw as the winning bachelor. According to reports, Ms. Bradshaw later changed her mind and canceled her date with the serial killer.

Several months later he raped and murdered his first victim, a 12 year old girl. Alcala would go on to murder 4 more women in the following months. Now 66 years old, Rodney Alcala was convicted for these murders in February and is currently defending himself in the sentencing phase.

According to a CNN report, Bachelor No. 2 on that same Dating Game episode recalls vividly his interactions with Rodney Alcala during the taping of the show. “Oh yeah, I remember it quite clearly,” said Jed Mills, the game-show contestant who sat next to Alcala in 1978. “He was quiet, but at the same time he would interrupt and impose when he felt like it,” Mills said. “And he was very obnoxious and creepy — he became very unlikable and rude and imposing as though he was trying to intimidate.”
