Katherine Heigl is changing things up with a new hair color. The normally blonde actress has recently dyed her hair brunette. The new hair color shocked some of her regular paparazzi photographers but the quick witted bunch quickly snapped pictures of the actress and her new do. Her newly brown locks are also a bit longer than her signature Marilyn Monroe cropped curls. Many speculate the new look is for an upcoming role.

Heigl won her fame for her role on the hit TV show Grey’s Anatomy. She was written out of the series during last season but that was only a temporary absence. Heigl was granted three months of maternity leave after adopting a baby from South Korea.

Creators for the show have revealed Heigl’s character Izzie Stevens will be returning next season. Rumors are circulating that the 31 year old actress will only appear in a few episodes before leaving the show for good.

The actress has gone on to star in numerous hit films and will most likely be leaving the series soon in order to pursue her film career full time. She has several films in the works and recently filled a role vacated by Reese Witherspoon.
