Corey Haim’s death is still being labeled as a self-induced accidental drug overdose. The drugs involved are prescription drugs the actor had been prescribed. It is disturbing to learn that another Hollywood star has been given the tools needed to “accidentally” overdose, even after they have admitted publicly to being drug addicts.

Police on the scene of Haim’s overdose, confiscated four prescription medication bottles. Although, these are not illegal medications when a person is prescribed them by a licensed doctor, they are narcotics, and they are highly addictive.

The 38 year old actor’s death has been linked to a suspected drug ring. The prescription medications that seemed harmless upon first glance were actually illegally obtained. The drug ring involves individuals obtaining prescription pads of licensed doctors and writing prescriptions for others to fill.

One prescription has been named so far as being directly connected to the San Diego based drug ring. The district attorney has not revealed if the other three are linked, nor have any names been released as they are part of an ongoing investigation.

Haim’s mother has stated that his cause of death was due to an enlarged heart and water in his lungs. Haim was in a prescription drug rehabilitation addiction program at the time of his death.
