With the recent announcement of Katherine Heigl and her departure from the ABC hit show ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, it must have sparked a new fashion itch in the actress. Heigl, most noted for her flowing blond locks, has been recently spotted in Los Angeles with a darker, raven colored hairstyle.

Producers from Grey’s Anatomy are saying that Heigl’s absence from the show will be short lived as she is due to be back on the show later in 2010. Heigl is currently on maternity leave after she adopted a young infant from South Korea. The new hairdo though has been the talk of Tinsel Town over the past couple of days and she seemed as content as ever as she was pictured in LA with her child in tow.

Fans all over the web have had mixed emotions about the new hairstyle. Some have embraced it but others have said flatly that they dissapproved. Grey’s Anatomy fans though should not be worried as Izzie Stevens is set to return to Seattle’s Grace Mercy West Hospital come the Fall 2010 season. The Emmy award winning show is currently in its sixth season and has a contract through at least the Spring of 2012.
