Charlie Sheen in Colorado for Arraignment on Felony Charges

Last Christmas, while vacationing in Aspen, the police responded to a 911 call from Brooke Mueller in which she claimed her husband, Charlie Sheen was threatening her with a knife. Sheen, the star from 2 and a Half Men, was charged with 3rd degree assault and criminal mischief along with felony menacing and 2 separate misdemeanors.

In the arraignment today, Sheen is bringing in a new lawyer, Steve Cochran, who will be admitted pro hac vice to help with his defense. Cochran, who has worked on many high profile cases, will assist Sheen’s current lawyer, Richard Cummins. According to a source close to the Sheens, the lawyers will use Mueller’s history of substance abuse as part of Sheen’s defense. This source claims Mueller was partying heavily before the incident, drinking and smoking crack.

The defense will claim Mueller made the 911 call while under the influence and the alleged incident never happened. This defense will carry more weight because Mueller was admitted into rehab right after the incident.
Throughout all this, the couple wants to reconcile and a judge removed the protective order that allowed no contact between them on the condition that Sheen stays away from firearms and alcohol.
