Arrest Made in Drug Ring Linked to Corey Haim

The tragic death of 80s star Corey Haim has been linked to a prescription drug ring in California. The actor died early in the morning on March 10th. Emergency responders found four prescription medications in the home that were prescribed for the actor. California Attorney General Jerry Brown has stated an arrest has been made in the case but has not given any more details.

A further look into those prescription meds revealed they were not legally obtained. Records show Haim had filled prescriptions for thousands of pills within the last year. More than a dozen doctors supposedly issued the prescriptions that were filled at different pharmacies. The most recent prescription for Vicodin was filled on March 5th.

Although the cause of death has not been revealed, the coroner has stated the 38 year old actor had pneumonia, an enlarged heart and water in his lungs at the time of death. A toxicology report will give a more definitive cause of death but it will take several weeks to be completed.

Brown goes on to imply that if the actor did, in fact, take all the pills he had been prescribed in the past year, his body would have been very damaged.
