One of the ‘Wonder Years’ stars is set to embark on a wonderful new journey in her own life. Danica McKellar and her husband who she married a year ago have announced that they are expecting a child. McKellar, who played the main love interest Winnie Cooper on the hit television program about coming of age, told the press that she is nearing the end of her first trimester and is very excited about the impending birth.

McKellar who is also a bit of a braniac, having just finished her third book about Algebra said that she had initially putting off actually taking a pregnancy test because she didn’t want distractions as she neared deadline.

While McKellar has never had the kind of fame that she earned when she was appearing on ‘Wonder Years’ opposite the show’s main character played by Fred Savage, she has managed to stay just inside the public eye with guest starring roles on hit shows like ‘The West Wing’ as well as ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘How I Met Your Mother.’ Danica has also written a few screen plays including for the children’s series ‘Inspector Mom’. Still McKellar will always be ‘Winnie’ to most television viewers.
