Estate of Anna Nicole denied chunk of oil fortune
A United States appeals court ruled on Friday that the elderly Texas billionaire that Anna Nicole Smith married towards the end of his life never meant to leave the former ‘Playboy’ model any of his vast fortune when he died. The legal battle over J. Howard Marshall’s estate has been going on for years. First it was Anna Nicole herself who waged the battle over the fact that Marshall had left her out of the will. Smith claimed that while Marshall might not have included her in his will, he had promised her a portion of his billions.

Marshall’s son argued that the will his father wrote which left all the money to him was the correct way to divvy out the money and the ninth circuit court of appeals agreed. While Smith herself died a few years ago, her estate was still battling with Marshall’s son in order to try and secure the money she felt was owed to her for her three year old child.

The latest ruling found that J. Marshall was mentally sound when he crafted the will that left everything to his son and that he was not under duress. There is little doubt that this is the last chapter in this particular fight.
