‘True Blood’ star, Anna Paquin, made a revelation yesterday through a public service announcement (PSA) that was a shock to some: She is bisexual.

For the Give a Damn campaign, a project started by Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors Fund, fighting for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality, several stars have come together in a new PSA announcing their sexual preference. While some may come as no surprise, such as Lauper and Clay Aiken, others were more of a shock. Paquin, who is engaged to be married to her ‘True Blood’ co-star, Stephen Moyer, announced at the beginning of the PSA that she is bisexual.

On the commercial she says, “I’m Anna Paquin. I’m bisexual, and I give a damn.” The actress went on to say of sexual bigotry, “one hate crime is committed approximately every hour of every day in this country.”

Also participating in the campaign are names such as Elton John, Whoopi Goldberg, Cynthia Nixon, Jason Mraz, Kim Kardashian, and Sharon and Kelly Osbourne.

Apparently we are not the only ones who were surprised by the announcement. According to Radar, there were several people who are close to Paquin in attendance at the taping that had no idea she would be making the announcement.
