Zeta-Jones Pleas Rehab for Stepson

Acclaimed actress Catherine Zeta Jones has made a plea to Judge Richard Berman in the legal case against her stepson.

Zeta-Jones is married to actor Michael Douglas. Son Cameron Douglas is currently facing multiple drug charges after being arrested for possession of cocaine and crystal meth in July 2009. The junior Douglas faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Zeta-Jones is asking that Judge Berman consider ordering her stepson into a drug rehabilitation and treatment center instead of being sentenced to a prison term.

“My stepson is a caring, considerate, worthy human being,” said the Hollywood actress. “But nevertheless, the disease that for years he has tried to combat, did take over again.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones has two young children with her husband who is son of actor Kirk Douglas. The senior Douglas has commented about his grandson’s appearance in the flick ‘It Runs in the Family’ in which he starred with his son and grandson, stating that “We were so proud.”

Cameron Douglas is a disc jockey and has appeared in several films including ‘Mr. Nice Guy’, ‘It Runs in the Family’, and ‘National Lampoon’s Adam & Eve’.

Douglas is scheduled to appear for sentencing later this month.
