Keith Richards is set to co-star in fourth installment of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ flick, ‘On Stranger Tides’, along side actor Johnny Depp.
Richards will star as the father of pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Depp. The role of Jack Sparrow has helped to bolster Depp’s career. The actor has been working closely with the Disney production company in order to continue with the ‘Pirates’ film series. Richard appeared in the third ‘Pirates’ flick, ‘At World’s End’.
It is rumored that Depp is trying to recruit fellow Rolling Stones member Mick Jagger for a role in the popular film. Depp has said that if he accepts the role, Jagger will be portraying an elder pirate similar to the role Richards plays.
The actor has gained a mixed reception at the announcement of the movie, which is set to begin filming sometimes this summer. Fans have cited Depp as being a “sell out” for continuing the film series. The actor however, simply smiles and states that he is happy in reprising the role of Captain Jack.
“I can’t wait to get back in costume,” he said.
Depp has been a leading man on television and film since the 80s.
Holy crap; Sell out? Starring in a pirate movie with Keith Richards isn’t selling out in my opinion… What fun. So jealous of Knightley right now!!! If she quits, I’ll gladly take the role of Elizabeth Swan! Especially if Jagger accepts his role! Amazing lineup!

I agree, Depp is not a sell-out. Never will be. He simply loves the character of Captain Jack and I for one am looking forward to seeing him back the role. BTW, Keira is not in PoTC because she said she was done with the Pirates films. Since this next film is supposed to stand alone from the other 3, I hope they bring back the magic of the first one.
I agree. As an actor, is there really such a thing as “selling out”? The entire purpose of the profession is to become a character, and I for one, am thoroughly amused by Capt. Jack.
Starring in a huge, blockbuster series of dang-entertaining films is a sell out? Then so be it…arrrggggg!!!

I think this line-up is great, I love Jack Sparrows and this is going to be a fun movie to watch. And besides the country needs something to watch. At least this will give us some entertainment for 2 or 3 hours. Johnny why don’t you just use the whole band. Stones rock!!!!
Sell out?….note…the ones calling him a sell out aren’t successful….the ones attempting to become successful often ridicule those that do…he has many other “offbeat” films to his credit and was quite good in them. he takes the strange roles and makes them come to life…he’s easily one of the most brilliant actors of our time…and yeah….he SELLS OUT…at the box office….Peace All…Be Safe

Knightley and Bloom jumped ship (pardon the pun) long ago on this film. Their characters were done and I agree. Not sure where this film is going except into Depp’s pocket and I love these films.

I can’t wait to see anoher Pirates movie. I knew there would be another one. The only Pirate’s movie that wasn’t good was the second one. Dead Man’s Chest.
That one wasn’t very good.The first and the last one have been the best two and Johhny Depp was the best in those.
