Quaid Packs on the Pounds for His Role as Clinton

According to actor Dennis Quaid, he had to do more than just learn his script in order to play the role of former president, Bill Clinton.

In order to begin to resemble Clinton for his role in the upcoming HBO movie “The Special Relationship,” Quaid had to pack on 35 pounds, shave his eyebrows and wear a wig. He had a little bit of help putting on the extra pounds from his friends at McDonald’s.

Quaid said of his transformation, “I used a wig and shaved off my eyebrows because Clinton doesn’t hardly have any eyebrows. I also gained 35 pounds by eating McDonald’s like Clinton. I ate a lot of Happy Meals, and I loved those 10 piece Chicken McNuggets.”

The movie, which airs on HBO May 29th, takes viewers behind the scenes as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair begins his climb politically. The movie follows Blair’s, played by Michael Sheen, relationship with the former president. It shows how the men dealt with their personal lives as well as their political lives as problems began to arise in each of their countries.

This will be the third time that Sheen has taken on the role of Tony Blair.
