Melrose Place Canceled After 18 Episodes

Rumors have swirled for months now that ‘Melrose Place,’ revamped from years back, may be canceled. The word finally came down. The CW has announced it will not bring back the show. Despite CW’s attempt to revive it, to give it new life, it just was not enough.

It was hoped that bringing Heather Locklear back to the show would breathe in some fresh air. Even she was not successful in doing so. ‘Melrose Place’ is the only show CW did not renew for next season. The struggling drama received the axe after CW decided the show had struggled enough.

The show never gained the huge traction CW had hoped for and, being the only scripted series, CW decided it was not going to return. The drama lasted for only one season offering a total of 18 episodes. This puts the ‘Melrose Place’ stars out of work. This includes Katie Cassidy, Stephanie Jacobsen, Jessica Lucas, Michael Rady, Shaun Sipos, Colin Egglesfield, and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. The young, beautiful stars, will most likely be picked up by other programs.

Surprisingly, ‘One Tree Hill’ was offered one more season to prove itself as was the low-rated ‘Life Unexpected.’ The first show will mark its eighth year on the air.

Come on… Melrose Place is like 10 times better than 90210, why cancel it? 90210 is a good show, don’t get me wrong, but for us 25+ crowd, who wants to see a bunch of high schoolers… we want people our age, seeing their lifes and more adult theme’s and life situations. Don’t cancel it!!!
