‘Fabio’ Becomes Youngest ‘Survivor’ Winner
Jud Birza, a 21-year-old model and aspiring actor nicknamed Fabio, won the 21st season of the CBS reality show “Survivor” Sunday. Birza became the youngest person to win the $1 million prize in the show’s history.
Former UNC linebacker and aspiring country singer Chase Rice, 25, and real estate broker Matt “Sash” Lenahan, 30, rounded out the top three. During the final vote where the contestants on the jury voted for the winner it came down to Rice and Birza with Fabio winning by one vote with a 5-4 tally. Birza claimed that he played up his “dumb persona” to slip under the radar and win the show.
The next season, debuting February 16, will be “Survivor: Redemption Island” and also take place in San Juan del Sur, Rivas, Nicaragua. Contestants voted off will go to an island and have the chance to compete to come back into the game.
