Whitney Houston’s Funeral Will Be Held Saturday

According to reports, the late singing star’s funeral will take place this Saturday at the New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey. Houston attended this church while growing up.

The church is small and intimate and the service is invitation only, but the funeral will be broadcast live on the Internet and television. The church seats 1500 people. Most in attendance will be family and friends of Whitney’s, but there will also be a few celebrities attending the funeral.

Whitney will be eulogized will be given by Marvin L. Winans who has been a friend of the Houston family for many years. Winans is both a pastor and gospel singer. In 1992, Winans presided over the marriage of Whitney and Bobby Brown.

Reportedly, Whitney’s family is refusing to have a public memorial because they do not want a circus.

Whitney Houston was found dead last Saturday in her Bevelly Hills hotel room bathtub. She was 48 years old.
