The five year marriage of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is ending with a divorce filing. Holmes has filed and is asking for sole custody of the couples daughter, Suri. The 33-year old actress says her six year old is her main concern, while Cruise is devastated at the filing.
The couple had different ideas when it came to parenting Suri, but both are close to their daughter. The problem is said to be rooted in the ties Cruise has with the Church of Scientology. Holmes feared her daughter would be taken into the religion by Cruise and does not want this. Filing for sole legal custody is an effort to remain in control over the religious activities and schooling of the little girl.
