Brad Pitt’s Mom Stirs Controvery By Criticism of President Obama
Springfield, Missouri – Jane Pitt, mother of international box-office draw Brad Pitt, wrote a letter to the editor of the Springfield News-Leader criticizing President Obama. In her letter, it’s apparent that Pitt is a social conservative given her opposition to President Obama on the issue of abortion and same-sex marriage.
In her letter, she urges Christians to vote for Mormon candidate Mitt Romney, the GOP nominee adding, “Barack Hussein Obama – a man who … did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer.”
She adds, “I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.”
Since she her letter was published she has received death threats and she now refuses to discuss her letter with the press out of fear of retaliation by Obama’s supporters.

Brad Pitt’s Mom Blasts President Obama On Gay Marriage In Letter To Newspaper
Speaking on Good Morning American, Brad’s younger brother Doug defended his mothers right to free speech.
“You know, I think moms and dads and kids agree to disagree all over the world. So why would our family be any different?” he said. “There can be healthy discussion when people disagree with you. The bad thing is when it turns to venom and negativity, and we don’t have that in our family. It’s open discussion. We can learn from each other and, if anything, it solidifies your point. Or maybe you learn something.”
“No state should decide who can marry and who cannot,” Brad is quoted by Peoplemagazine as saying in 2011.
“Thanks to the tireless work of so many, someday soon this discrimination will end and every American will be able to enjoy their equal right to marriage.”
Brad Pitt, who has been a constant support of gay rights in the U.S. has yet to comment publicly about the letter.

Somewhere between the covers of the King James version of the Christian bible it tells Christians that one sin is as bad as another in God’s eyes… so if homosexuality is bad in Mrs Pitts eyes so is living with a person sans legalities. the way her son is doing…. it also says the only “unforgivable”
sin is not believing. or was that suicide? can’t remember. but either way, if you kill yourself you cannot ask to be “saved” and if you don’t believe. you usually don’t ask for forgiveness… So Mrs Pitt, before you judge anyone, (which is also a sin)you may want to ask which is the best man to run your country and keep religion out of your decision because “Christians” can be very evil too. It has been said that going to a Christian church does not make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.
You are so right Carole. Not only is her son living in sin, according to her christian principles, he also committed adultery when he had an affair with Angie while still maried td to Jennifer Aniston. The far right like to preach morality to the rest of America but looking at people like Newt Gingrich and some of the evangelical leaders, all I see is hypocrisy.
I wonder how Brad’s “christian” mother feels about Brad having 20 kids out of wedlock? Also, maybe someone should tell Mrs. Pitt that no one is voting for Romney. Romney is an animal abusing moron that is working to make a better “Amercia”. If Americans want a better AMERICA, I think they should stick with Obama. Only right-wing religious nuts(such as Mrs. Pitt) will be voting for Romney.
People are entitled to their opinion and should not be subject to death threats.
This is after all America and should be dealt with, with a constructive dialog.
Inferring someone is evil or a nut because they have the morals and views of what most American had 30yrs ago and earlier is not constructive.
Remember it used to be the social norm for greeks to practice pedastry as well as homosexuality.
For someone to be called a nut for holding to their moral beliefs, their parents beliefs, their grandparents beliefs as well as their community is ridiculous. It is normal and can not be strong-armed and shamed to change.
a generation ago segregation and white supremacy were the values of the day as well. Should we respect people thatwant to bring that back too?
If she cannot take the heat, she should get out of the kitchen. No one forced her to write the letter and now that she did, she has to live with the consequences.
I guess live with the consequences of free speech and a civilized society.
