The ‘Honey Boo Boo’ show has been in the news lately thanks to political pundits who have been heard comparing the network ratings of the Republican Convention to this TLC juvenile beauty pageant reality series. Certain sources have estimated that the cast from the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” show earns the family a salary reaching into the tens of thousands. One source, the Hollywood Reporter speculates that the family brings in $2,000 to $4,000 for each episode and as much as $40,000 for the full season.

However other reality TV stars such as NeNe Leakes of Atlanta Housewives and Jersey Shore’s Snooki are known to score six-figure salaries for their on-screen exploits.

Honey Boo Boo’s mom when asked, claimed the figure was much higher than that. The show is a ratings success, and the August 29th show reeled in almost three million viewers — more than the Republican convention in Tampa.

An insider told RadarOnline.com: “They don’t even pay for the families’ entry fees into the pageants. But the moms do it because it’s good exposure for their little girls and that’s exactly what they want.

“They can cast their entire season without paying a talent fee. It is brilliant.”
A TLC spokesperson said the network does not comment on salaries.

“Here Comes The Honey Boo Boo” originated as a spin off of the TLC series “Toddler & Tiaras”.
