Fashion Career Took Victoria Beckham’s Smile
Fashion models have perfected two iconic looks: the strut and the pout. They march down the runway and then give their best disinterested face for the cameras.
in an interview with US Glamour, Victoria Beckham blames fashion for taking her smile away. While she used to smile in pictures, the camera rarely catches one these days. Beckham claims that when a camera appears, she automatically turns into her fashion model persona, and gives her best pose.
“I actually used to smile a lot in pictures. I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion”, before jokingly adding:
“Fashion stole my smile! I’ve created this person. And I’m not saying that’s not me, but I wouldn’t say that’s the whole me. It’s an armor that goes up.”
It doesn’t reflect her personality or her state of mind; she claims to be a very happy person. Her marriage to soccer star David Beckham and their four children keep her smiling in private, but in public, the professional side of Victoria comes out and she automatically flashes her runway glare.
