Mindy Kaling Finds Her Marge Simpson For Photo Shoot (Courtesy Glamour)
Former “The Office” star Mindy Kaling knows what it’s like to be part of a pop culture phenomenon. It should come as little surprise that FOX’s newest star would take a stab at copying a long time FOX icon in Marge Simpson, reports The Daily Mail.
Kaling recently shot a spread for Glamour magazine. In her photo shoot, she is dressed in Marge Simpson’s iconic fashion, including a towering blue beehive hairdo. Behind her, a background replica of the Simpson family couch and living room.
In the article, Kaling talks about her love of the Simpsons, her relationship with her month, her time as a writer and actress on “The Office”, and her new show “The Mindy Project”. She mentions falling in love with Marge Simpson as a child. She calls Simpson’s creator Matt Groening a “genius” for the way he designed Marge.
Kaling’s new sitcom, “The Mindy Project” debuts September 25th on FOX.
