Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried Oscar Dress Snafu: Star Throws A ‘Fit’
Actress Anne Hathaway was said to have thrown a hissy fit after discovering that fellow actress Amanda Seyfried was planning on wearing a dress to the Oscar ceremony that looked very similiar to the Valentino design Hathaway had already selected.
She took out her anger on the crew of fashion experts who had arrived at her home to help her prepare, keeping them waiting for hours while she made a decision on what to wear and then insisting that everyone keep quiet during her singing rehearsal.
An insider says:
“Anne made the fashion, makeup, hair and jewelry teams wait at her home for hours as she decided what to do about the dress debacle. [She then] asked for silence so she could rehearse her singing for the ‘Les Mis’ tribute at the Oscars. It was a painfully long experience.”
Hathaway had her publicist release a statement indicating that the dress she was wearing to the Oscars was a last-minute substitution rather than the original Valentino she had selected and expressed her deep disappointment at having to make a hurried last-minute change.
Hathaway said:
“It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans.
“Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last-minute decision as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself. I deeply regret any disappointment caused.”
Meanwhile, Hathaway’s ex is looking to get back into the United States.
Raffaello Follieri, was put in prison for four and a half years after pleading guilty to misappropriating investments from a billionaire. After that scandal, Anne Hathaway found herself the center of media scrutiny and even had her personal diaries confiscated during the investigation as evidence.
“When you are 25 years old and you have a company growing very fast, you get carried away in situation,” Follieri said of his arrest during a 2012 Nightline interview. “At the time, my life was pretty good. I had a girl that I love. My business was going well. … I thought that was the American dream. But it was not so long later that everything fall apart.”
“He misses America, and when he gets enough money he wants to lobby for a presidential pardon,” a source told The New York Post.
Hathaway ended the relationship in 2008
Hathaway wore a revealing Prada gown to the Awards Ceremony in Hollywood, where she enjoyed the last laugh as winner of the Best Supporting Actress Award.
