Jackman’s Wolverine Body Is Not Sexy To Wife
Australian heart throb Hugh Jackman has turned heads with his good looks and physique. The X-men star sends girls in to a frenzy during shirtless scenes. Men flock to the gym, imitating Jackman’s workout regimen, in efforts to mirror the star ripped physique. The world is obsessed with this Hollywood heart throb. However, despite being married to one of the sexiest men alive, Jackman’s wife doesn’t like the Wolverine star chiseled body.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Australian actor revealed that his wife Deborra is not fond of his chiseled body. Jackman is quoted stating that his wife “prefers me chubby, because it makes her look better”.
“Deb will tell you that she doesn’t like it. She prefers me chubby because it makes her look better,” said Jackman, who is dubious about his wife’s claims. “I don’t know. I met her on a prison drama where I was pretty jacked in that, and I dare say we wouldn’t be together if I hadn’t met her with that body.”
Jackman refuted the comment by stating that when they met, he was “pretty jacked up”.
Jackman tells the Globe, “When I met her, I had to put on a lot of muscle. I was playing a prisoner, I had tattoos and everything. She’s never really seen me with my real body.
“She will say to me, ‘Your job as my husband is to look bad. Ok? Be in bad shape, be overweight, be schlubby, so I look great!’ And she’s right.”
For Jackman’s latest movie, The Wolverine training was intensified. The regimen included intense workout sessions and bouts of intermittent fasting for shirtless scenes.
“I had the real claws on; he had the sword, and it was very precise,” Jackman explained. “I’m very clumsy. I’ve stabbed more than one person playing this part … I was glad to walk away from that one [without any accidents].”
Jackman has revealed just how hard it is to prepare himself to play the blade-knuckled mutant in the “X-Men” franchise. Not only did Jackman go through a punishing workout routine to get himself in shape for his character’s upcoming solo effort, “The Wolverine,” he had to pile on the calories, which isn’t as much fun as it sounds.
“You actually have to eat a LOT, and I’m quite a skinny person,” Jackman said in an interview with Sirius XM satellite radio. “So I’m eating ridiculous amounts of food. I quite like everything I ate, but it’s more bland. Chicken breasts, but steamed, no salt. And steamed spinach.”
Jackman says it’s all about timing when pouring on those calories. “When you’re bulking, you’re just eating so much food,” Jackman said. “What I do is I eat in an eight hour period, it’s all the rage this diet now. It’s called the 16-8 diet. For sixteen hours of the day, I fast, so I don’t eat. Between ten in the morning and six o’clock at night … I eat 5,000 calories. And then I eat nothing … it’s more about, ‘This is a disgusting amount of food, I can’t eat another bite.’ I literally talk to myself like I’m training – ‘One more mouthful, c’mon man! You can do it! Just one more mouthful! Half a chicken breast to go and then you’ve got it! Just two meals left!'”
The latest movie, The Wolverine stars Jackman, where he revise his role as Logan aka The Wolverine. The story line stems from the classic 1980’s comic, The Wolverine. Logan is stranded in Japan alone where he is confronted with mysterious figure from his past.
The Wolverine hits theaters on July 26.
