Phuket, Thailand – International singing sensation Rihanna, who is in the midst of her Diamonds World Tour, took some time off yesterday for a little rest & relaxation. For the beauty, which cameras love to photograph, that meant the moment had to be photographed.

As usual, the beauty from Barbados uploaded to Instagram sensual photographs of her showing her fans “what she’s working with”. One photograph in particular has gotten two people into trouble with local authorities. The photograph featured the singer of the hit song “SOS” snuggling up to a loris – an endangered animal.

In Thailand, police are constantly cracking down on peddlers who exploit endangered species for money. Usually, the illegal peddlers bring in the animals to earn money from tourists willing to pay to pose with them. In the case of Rihanna’s primate pic, the photograph went viral giving high visibility to the exploitation of endangered species.

Police moved swiftly to crack down on the peddlers and took a sixteen year boy and twenty year old young man into custody. The two now face charges for illegal possession of endangered species. The maximum penalty the perps face is four years in prison and $40,000 Baht (~$1,300 USD).
