Katharine McPhee Caught Up in Smashing Lip Lock
A new picture is floating around the internet of Katharine McPhee and her Smash Director Michael Morris engaging in a little bit of post lunch PDA this past Sunday, October 22. The pair shared multiple kisses and were seen openly holding hands in the parking lot of I Panini di Ambra in Los Angeles.
McPhee, married to producer Nick Cokas, co-starred on the TV show Smash. McPhee and Cokas have reportedly been separated for the last 6 months. Smash has since been canceled, but it seems the relationship between McPhee and Morris went beyond filming.
Michael Morris has been married to Mary McCormack since 2003. They have 3 children ages 9, 6 and 3. Morris and McCormack worked together on the USA show In Plain Sight. There have been no reports of the status of their marriage.
Sources told Life & Style magazine that McCormack was completely blindsided by the affair and now she wants to end their marriage.
“They’ve been together for more than 10 years and always had such a solid marriage,” an insider revealed to the magazine. “They have three daughters, so it’s incredibly sad. He wants to keep the family together, but as far as Mary is concerned, it’s over. There’s no going back.”
The source adds, “She is beyond furious and is absolutely devastated. So is Michael. He really wants to make it work between them and try and save the marriage. But at the moment, Mary wants to split up with him.”
Before Smash, McPhee had done many minor roles in television on The Family Guy, Community, and CSI: Miami. Her major film work includes roles on Peace, Love & Misunderstanding, You May Not Kiss The Bride, and The House Bunny.
McPhee was a contestant on American Idol in 2006, ultimately exiting the competition as runner up to Taylor Hicks, American Idol’s first male winner.
