Blake Lively, Ellen Burstyn Set To Star In ‘The Age of Adaline’
Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn will be starring in the romantic drama ‘The Age of Adaline.’ Surprisingly Burstyn will play the 80 year old daughter of Lively, who plays the 29 year old looking mother. Lively character’s “secret” is that she stopped aging when she nearly died in a car accident. Lively’s character is able to keep her true age a secret, but finally has to face how to handle her conundrum when she falls in love.
It is said that the two leading roles were originally intended for others. Burstyn’s part was to be played by Angela Lansbury, and Lively’s role was to go to Katherine Heigl. It is Lively’s second movie role since the show, “Gossip Girl” ended.
The movie, which will be directed by Lee Toland Krieger of “Celeste & Jesse Forever”, will begin filming in March. The role of director has also been reassigned, having originally gone to Gabriele Muccino, the director of “The Pursuit of Happyness”. The script was rewritten by Allison Burnett, after having been originally penned by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz. This film is long awaited, with the original set of actors and director having been assigned in 2010.
