Silva May Be Ready for a Serious Challenge to Wiedman in UFC 168 Rematch

Las Vegas, NV – As the adage goes, “pride cometh before the fall”, Anderson Silva learned his lesson the last time the fought Chris Weidman. Silva underestimated his opponent and relied on theatrics early into the match only to find himself sprawled out on the canvas and his opponent wearing the championship belt. What made things all the more embarrassing was that Silva was trying to lure Weidman in for a sucker punch by feigning an injury. Ironically, it was the Brazilian mixed martial arts champion who got cold-cocked in the face and KO’d.

This time around, Silva is coming in for a rematch that will actually pit the two giants in what will be a hard fought challenge. In all honestly, the first match ended in a surprise defeat with Silva not able to display the raw talent that earned him his championships. This time around, the newly humbled and well-trained ex-champion will be looking to redeem himself and it may well be that Weidman will be experiencing the sting of the adage that payback is something that rhymes with the word stitch.

However, Silva still believes in his taunting tactics. Let’s hope for his sake one of them isn’t an attempt to sucker punch Weidman.
