Second Person Steps Forward to Allege Sex Abuse by Michael Jackson
It is without question that sexual abuse leaves scars on a person that may take years to even notice. Often times, the secrecy involved, misguided or exploited trust, and shame combine to compel a person to deny what occurred. Whether that is the case with James Safechuck or not is anyone’s guess, but the married father of two has stepped forward to both recant his prior statements on abuse by Michael Jackson and allege years of serial sexual abuse. What has made Safechuck come forward now? In one simple word: fatherhood. Now that he is raising his own children, the scales of denial have begun to come off his eyes and he understands the gross violation that occurred to him over the formative years of 10 to 15 when he alleges Jackson repeatedly molested him.
In coming forward, Safechuck will pair up with Wade Robson, age 31, who is also suing Jackson’s estate for sexual abuse. Robson is an Australian citizen and currently works as a choreographer. In Safechuck’s case, he co-starred with Michael Jackson in a famous Pepsi Cola commercial and traveled the globe promoting the product alongside Jackson. Former Jackson employees from his Neverland ranch state they never saw the pop icon fondling young Safechuck’s private parts while the two shared time in a hot tub. However, that does not mean the incidents did not occur. Sexual abuse often occurs in private moments.
It should be noted that twenty years ago, Jackson’s sister LaToya alleged to have come across a canceled check her brother had written to a garbage collector. She believed it to be hush money for child abuse allegations. As it turns out, Safechuck’s father is a garbage collector and was in that line of work back in 1994. LaToya drew the line on family loyalty at child abuse and claimed her brother was a serial molester having begun abusing boys as early as 1981.
