Mass Shooting at Fort Hood

13 are dead and 29 wounded after a military psychiatrist calmly opened fire on unsuspecting, unarmed soldiers at Fort Hood,Texas, as he shouted “Allah.”

The motive is still unclear at this time however, sources say, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, of possible Palestinian decent, was unhappy about facing deployment to Iraq later this month. He frequently spoke against the war to patients and comrades. Sometimes in an argumentative manner.

The soldiers caught in the mass shooting were in the process of getting their final shots and checkups before leaving for their own deployment to Iraq.

The scene was described as chaos and tragedy. Family members were left on edge as schools, daycares and the fate of their loved ones were unknown due to a lock down of the base.

According to sources, the soldiers do not carry firearms on base and the military’s firearms are locked up.
Homeland Security and the Army has taken charge at this point. FBI agents from Waco and Austin, Texas, are being deployed to the scene for further investigating.

“The immediate concern is to make sure that all of our soldiers and family members are safe and that’s what commanders have been instructed to do,” said Jay Adams of First Army, Division.

It was not immediately believed to be a terrorist act however, the matter is still under investigation.
