According to reports, Fayetteville police have found the body of Shaniya Davis.
Five year-old Shaniya Davis was found dead in an area near Highway 87 south and Walker Road, just south of Sanford.
Shaniya Davis was last seen alive at the Comfort Suites hotel in Sanford last week, the morning her mother Antoinette reported her missing from their Fayetteville home. The surveillance video from the Comfort Suites hotel showed Shaniya being carried by Mario McNeill, 29.
The police located little Shanyia’s body just seven miles from the hotel, according to the AP.
“We were hoping that someone could carry her home,” said Syd Severe, 42, a volunteer who came from Raleigh to help with the search. “It’s just sick.”
The girls mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, was charged last week with human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution.
According to arrest documents cited by The Fayetteville Observer, Davis “knowingly provide Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude” and she “permit an act of prostitution.”
Authorities also charged Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, with kidnapping.
Other charges for the pair are likely pending.

I hope that Shaniya can rest in peace. The true criminals behind this crime have been caught, and I hope that they get what they deserve. She’s better off in heaven than staying on earth with people that have never appreciated her.
