President Obama’s Clean Bill of Health

March 1, 2010 – President Barack Obama has received a clean bill of health after undergoing a medical check-up on Sunday at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

The 90 minute exam, which included a virtual colonoscopy, revealed no serious health problems. Attending physician Dr. Jeffrey Kuhlman did however advise the president to maintain his efforts at giving up smoking and recommended that he keep a close eye on his cholesterol intake, as his levels were just on the verge of being too high. The exam also revealed some tendinitis in his left knee, a problem likely caused by his history of playing basketball. He is currently on anti-inflammatory medicine to help alleviate the pain.

Additional findings in the medical report indicated that the president is 6’1”, weighs 180 pounds, has 20/20 vision and has a blood pressure of 105 over 62. The doctor recommended that he receive another checkup in August of 2011 and receive another colonoscopy in five years.

The last time the president underwent an exam was in 2008 during his tenure as U.S. senator from Illinois. Following his examination at the Naval Medical Center, the president met with military personnel who were going through treatment for injuries sustained in Iraq and Afghanistan.
