For most men and women their sexual activity declines with age. The average age for sexual activity to end is 70.
The University of Chicago and the U. S. National Institute of Health funded the study on age and sexuality. Stacy Tessler Lindau led a team that used facts from a 1995 – 1996 survey of men and women age 25 to 74. They also used results of a 2005 – 2006 survey of 57 – 85 year old men and women. 3000 people took part in these surveys.
The study found that men were more likely to remain sexually active then women. Age also was a factor with the largest difference between active sexual men and women were in an age group between 75 and 85. 40 % of the men in this age group and only 17 % of the women remained active sexually.
Health is also a factor on your sexual activity. Aging people in good health are more likely to keep active in more ways including sex then their ailing counterpart. The difference in sexual activity between the person in excellent health and that of one in poorer health is around 50 %.
The results found women to be less likely to be active sexually at every age.
