Health bill cost?

What will the new Health bill cost the American tax payer? The newest Health care reform that was introduced by President Obama and the democrats will cost 940 billion dollars with the majority of it being paid by an increase in the tax on Medicare that is currently .09%. This tax will increase to 2.3% on individuals with incomes of $200,000 and for married couples who file jointly with an income of $250,000. Included in the Health Care bill is a refund to all seniors of $250 to help cover their prescription costs.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that this legislation will make history and we will make progress by passing this bill into law. Starting in 2014, most Americans would be required to purchase some form of health care insurance. With the passage of this new bill, the United States government will help families that make under $88,000 annually, pay for the cost of this new health insurance.

Also in this land mark legislation is wording that would place fines on large companies that didn’t offer good-quality health insurance. Republicans don’t like the measure as it increases taxes on the wealthy. Republicans and Democrats will vote on this historic Health Care Bill this Sunday, March 21st.

Very opposed to this legislation. More tax with less benefits for the average American, besides more beauracacy. Let’s clean the house and Senate and start over.

I know it’s a hard pill to swallow but steps need to be taken to overhaul health care. This issue has gone on too long without being addressed. Healthcare costs are out of control, people abuse the system, hospitals manipulate the expenses it goes on and on. People need to take personal responsibility for health care and the services they need. Although all facets of health care needs reigned in until people are responsible for some of the financical burden of the health care costs with continue to spiral out of control. Everyone wants the cadillac of healthcare but are unwilling to pay for it. People have to face and deal with the expense of care just like they do their grocery bills, shopping for purchases and other quality of life items. No one wants to do that. It’s harsh when you to want to spare no expense in saving a loved one and don’t have the money but that is the reality we must all face. We must educate ourselves on end of life issues and other options for maintaining quality of life as we are faced with that may be less expensive when there is little hope for a positive outcome. Not easy to issues to deal with but deal with them we must. I applaud the efforts being made. This too will have it’s drawbacks but it is a much needed step in the right direction. Unfortunate but true.
