Calorie Count for Fast Food

The U.S. health care bill, signed by President Barrack Obama on Tuesday, requires restaurants with 20 or more locations to post the calorie count of menu items.

The bill directs the Food and Drug Administration to create a new menu standard that replaces state and city laws.

In addition, the new menu rules will require calorie counts be posted on menu boards and drive through menus.

Recently fast food and chain restaurants have started posting calorie counts in small print or in less obvious places to meet an FDA requirement, now they will be posted in a more obvious way.
