Coffee and asprin are now what scientists believe to be the best hangover cure – at least for rats!

Rats were given small amounts of ethanol by a team from the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. The ethanol caused the rats to have headaches. The team then used caffeine and anti-inflammatory medications to cure the hangovers in the rats.

Many people believe that coffee should not be used as a cure for a hangover, because caffeine does not cause dehydration. The rats did not become dehydrated when given the caffeine.

This study conducted may not be very reliable because the team of scientists did not even give the rats alcohol – they only induced the headaches!
