Recent evidence suggest that the low glycemic diet is the best for both taking off the weight and keeping it off.
Among the most common legitimate diets are the low calories, the low fat, the very low carbohydrate, and the low glycemic diet. While eating fewer calories is an important component another important part of the equation seems to be finding the right propotions of fats, carbs, and proteins.
A recent study revealed that too little fat was found to slow down metabolism, and too little carbs had a negative effect on hormone levels. However with a low glycemic diet people ate foods naturally high in fiber-rich carbs, proteins, and healthy fats like those found in food like nuts and avocados. Part of the success of the low glycemic diet seems to be that it offers variety, making it more sustainable betond a regular “diet” period.
