Behind Google's vigilance to protect its vested interests in its search engine market, is likely the powerful connection Bing has to Microsoft. There are other reasons for Google to tread softly and keep an eye on Bing. Microsoft has been involved in legal difficulties as a result of a tendency to overlap into their competitors' territories. Google is wise to consider Bing from every angle and aspect to avoid such difficulties with Microsoft. The search engine business enterprise is an ever-changing realm dependent solely upon the whim and preferences that enhance popularity by internet users. Holding onto a larger market share of internet users is the challenge of every search engine in an internet world where change occurs all too frequently and user stability can often be marginal at best. The financial rise and fall of a search engine depends on constant innovative design and implementational changes that attract as much user attention as possible. Google has maintained a consistently high level of popularity since its initial introduction and has outpaced many of the original search engines as well. The future for Bing lies in its ability to compete with Google. |
