O'Neal tells reporters that he expressed his love and asked that she forgive Redmond who is serving time in Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California for possession of illegal drugs. Redmond was not able to be by his mother's side when she died. She was diagnosed in late 2006 with anal cancer and actually went into remission in 2007. However, the cancer returned. Known for her role as Jill Munroe in the 1970s series Charlie's Angels as well as her portrayal of the abused woman, Francine Hughes, in the Burning Bed, Fawcett was an All-American Icon. While married to Lee Majors, from 1973 to 1938, she changed her name to Fawcett-Majors until shortly after their divorce. The other Charlie's Angels, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd, paid tribute and remember their former friend and co-star with reverence. Ms. Fawcett allowed NBC to document her battle with this horrible disease as an inspiration for others. |
